Safeguarding Training
Please read through the following:
Online Training
Note: This training is for Marketplace Welcome Team, and Marketplace Supervisor roles. It is not required for Stock Team, or Van Team roles.
The free online safeguarding training is provided by the Diocese of Winchester. You can sign up on their online portal here *
You will need the following information to set up your account:
Diocese: Winchester
Town/Church: Southampton City Mission
Cathedral: Not part of a Cathedral
Training Centre: Not part of a training centre
Role: Marketplace Volunteer
You will need to complete both the 'Basic Awareness', and 'Foundations' courses.
Once completed, can you let us know, and forward the certificate to ourselves.
* This will take you to an external website managed by the Church of England Safeguarding Team. SCM has no control over the registration and login process for the training, and any issues signing up or accessing would need to be raised with their web team.

In brief, we'll keep the personal information you provide during your Induction safe on our admin systems for as long as you volunteer with us
and for 2 years after you stop volunteering with us (this is so that we can provide a reference within this period if required).
